Hunk du Jour - Alexandre Despatie
My sister and I were watching the final of the 10m Men's Synchro Diving, commenting on pikes and splashes and degrees of difficulty with all the expertise that comes from a solid twenty minutes of viewing. We were also urging the Aussies to pummel the Brits.
Sadly we did not. The Australian team of Mathew Helm and Robert Newbery took bronze behind The Brits. The Chinese bagged the gold, miles in front.
But the winner on the day was sport, and the sport I am speaking of is of course, the Sport of Perving. Among the pasty Brits and Ukranians this tasty morsel shone through - Canada's Alexandre Despatie.
PROS:
- Dark hair and dark eyes. That whole Mr Darcy thing going on.
- Hair that looks nicely dishevelled when emerging from the pool.
- Hails from Quebec. Speaking French is sexy, even the wacky Quebec strain.
- He is sponsored by McDonalds. You didn't get that six pack by eating Le Big Mac, buddy!
- He was born in 1985. 1985!?! As soon as I discovered that fact I felt horribly, horribly dirty.
2.5 kalamata olives out of 5.
Two olives were deducted for making us feel like Mrs Robinson.

However, may I drag your attention to the men's Handball comp?
Seriously. Who would have thunk hot men would play HANDBALL, of all bloody sports? But they do... particularly the Spaniards.

Watched the diving also and Alexandre definately caught my eye aswell! He is FIT and boy can be dive! Compared to his team mate he was flippin amazing, can't wait till he competes on the 3m spring board tomorrow and the 10m platform dive. He is amazing! & he won the Commonwealth Gold when he was only 13!!!!!
I'm only 16 so that makes him just about the right age for me lol!
BTW he quallified top in the 3m springboard, I just found out!

If you're a diver, you'd appreciate exactly how good Alexandre is. He's bloody amazing!!! Been watching him since Commonwealth '98 because he was my introduction to diving and trust me when I say that doing those dives at any age isn't easy but doing them at 13 is remarkable. By the way, splash isn't all there is to the entry- the angle counts too (exactly perpendicular is the best). The judges unfortunately don't seem to be realizing that... *shakes head sadly*. And yeah, he isn't too bad in the looks department either. The standard of Chinese diving has really dropped though, at least in springboard. What happened to divers like Xiong Ni?

Stunning. @_@ Thats basically what I looked like when I set my eyes upon the GORGEOUS physique thats is Alexandre Despatie. His diving was just increible, and the fact that he is utterly delicious to look at makes watching him all the more blissful. I love those big brown eyes of his, not to mentiion his great bod!..BUT yes he is a fantastic diver and I hope he will keep it up (that way we can see more of him =D).

i don't know what kind of website this is, but i'm glad i stumbled upon it while googling "alexandre despatie."
the man is friggin hot. and i'm 18 so the whole '85 thing is a pro for me :)
actually tomorrow is my 18th birthday and he is diving the 10m on that day.
that makes the day quite memorable.
anyways, i will be bookmarking this page.

His dives are amazing, he is amazing and boy is he fit!
He is such an amazing diver, and only 13 when winning Commonwealth Gold!!!!!!
Was sooo happy to see him get olympic silver on 3m springboard, only saw his last dive cause of stupid BBC but it was still great :)

Hey, I found this site through google too :D Sorry if I'm littering your blog with nonsensical crap but I thought I'd comment on how amazing Alex Despatie is. I appreciate his hotness as much as the next girl but I'm even more amazed by how great he is at diving. I *lurve* that boy. Plus I'm only 19 too so that makes me feel good.

2.5 kalamatas for Alexandre? No, no, no, you've got the equation all wrong. First of all, no way he gets less than 4.5 out 5.0. But you should ADD IN 2.5 kalamatas for the Mrs. Robinson factor.
He's 19, perfectly legal so no shame there!
19 is the hottest age for these athletes, I am telling you. If you were watching Apolo Anton Ohno at the 2002 Winter Games you know exactly what I mean.

Yeah, I found this site from googling too. My god, I can't believe the skill that alexandre despatie has not to mention his body, his hair, his accent... I'm gonna have to stop myself there. I'm from Ontario but I've been to Quebec on several occasions and I usually DESPISE Quebecer accents(so much so that at a particularly *ahem* BAD time of the month I cried because a person from Quebec was speaking on the tv. Then again that might have had something to do with the time of the month...) but I could listen to his voice all day( and after all french is still the sexiest language EVER). Before anyone reading this thinks I could be a stalker, don't worry, I know I have absolutely ZERO chance with him seeing as I'm several years younger than him. Plus the fact that I'm about 3 inches taller then him really wouldn't make things any better. I'm not gonna be completely shallow either, It's amazing that he won a Commonwealth games gold medal at 13 and he was really a bright spot for canada this olympics.

Mmmmm... delicious... Nothing more needs to be said. However I need to tell you all not to look at pictures of him from Sydney. Seriously, it may destroy the whole hotness thing. I got over it, though it took some effort. The Mrs. Robinson-ness is weird but I'm only 21 and he is 5.5 inches taller than me so I think it could work!

hott... hott.. hott!! omg when i saw him on tv i couldnt believe how good looking he was... with his dark brown eyes and the way his hair looks when he gets outto the pool... YUM! im from newfoundland, and i too find Quebecers havent got THE ULTIMATE best french... but is still pretty sexy.... im 16 so its not too bad.. but the worst thing is im 5 '9!!! and if his only 5'6 that'd look WRONG!!!!... but he IS one of the BEST divers Canada has EVER had!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!! HE IS SO HOT!! The first time i saw him on tv i couldn't get over how hot he was. It makes me very proud that someone that hot came from canada. He is a super diver! Now i am going to have to stalk him. Haha just joking. That would be kind of wierd. I think his best feature is his hair (and his body of course... mmmm...) What i like about him that most is that he doesn't have that pretty boy look that most good looking guys have. He has a cute face and is absolutly adorable. And you can tell that he is a really nice guy.I saw the most adorable picture of him teaching a mentally disabled boy to swim and dive. It touched me inside. I like him even more because of the fact that he is half greek , because greek men are hot. I should know because i spent a couple of months there. I sound like such a loser right now but i don't care because I LOVE ALEXANDRE DESPATIE <3.

OH MY GOD! And I mean just that. OH MY GOD! Alexandre Despatie is easily the most gorgeous specimen of the male species I've ever seen.*sighs* Not only is he hot hot hot, sexy sexy sexy... and the list could go on and on...but he's also a gifted athlete. Winning the Commonwealth Games with a gold medal at the age 13 only proves that he's more than just a hunk with nice buns. I'm glad I found this site through googling. I just saw him on TV during the Olympics. Since then, I always watch out for his events to shout words of encouragement towards the screen even if he can't hear them. As for the "1985 and 5'6 thing", it's not a problem for me. I'm 5'2 and was borm the same year he was. I' not going to claim to be the future Mrs. Despatie since there is very little chance I'll see him in person.
